And we’re quickly becoming one of the most trusted peatland contractors in the country…
Across Scotland, there are close to two million hectares of peatland, three quarters of which are now degraded. Through the introduction of grants and other funding, the Scottish Government is focused on restoring what is arguably one of Scotland’s biggest carbon storing assets.
And that’s where we come in! DCRC have a fleet of low-pressure machines designed for this very purpose, all driven by operators with a specialist skillset to match. We use a variety of proven techniques to restore areas of exposed peat. We then slow down the flow of water, to stop the erosion of peatland reoccurring. In doing so, the soil is returned to a stable condition, capable of storing a huge amount of carbon and supporting a diverse range of vegetation and wildlife.
